Dating back to prehistoric times, man was always inventive when it came to creating antique tools for the task at hand. In order to get a job done, prehistoric man used tools such as the wheel and fire to do things such as cooking food that was captured and killed and to move large objects from one place to another.
The first antique tools were actually just stones that early man shaped and chiseled with larger stones, to use as a weapon for hunting and killing animals for food. Through the ages, as man has evolved, so have his tools. Many antique tools such as garden tools, sometimes still function better than today’s modern tools when it comes to getting a job done. These tools, forged by blacksmiths back in the day were built to last a lifetime.

Of course back then plastic did not exist, so tools were made with handles were made from hard woods. And the metals that were forged to make the actual instrument, had to be hammered and shaped, and then that forged piece of metal would be attached to the handle to create the actual finished tool. Even today, shovels and pickaxes are still produced the same way.
Today, antique or vintage tools are highly sought after by collectors because of their perceived value and the nostalgia that they bring along with them.
