The Rigid belt sander is a high quality sander with an inline 10 amp motor. The grips are comfortable and the speed nob is conveniently located on the handle, easily within thumbs reach. As far as sanders go, the Rigid belt sander is extremely well balanced which means better control for the 10.5 pounds it weighs. This sander also features soft start which is a gradually accelerating motor.
The Rigid belt sander uses a basic cork backed steel plate and has a 3x21 belt area that can sand up to 4.1 inches from a surface. One of the nicest features of this belt sander is the 12 foot cord which allows for plenty of area coverage. There is also a fabric dust collection bag included.
