Laptop Computer Batteries
Laptop batteries are exclusively designed for every laptop model and make. Thus, the batteries required for a particular brand of laptop differ from batteries those that are used for other brands of laptops. The life of a battery depends upon the type of that battery. This means that a nickel metal hydride battery will have a shorter lifespan compared to a lithium ion battery.
A battery is a device that stores chemical energy. This stored chemical energy is transformed into electrical energy in the form of a direct current (DC). Laptop batteries are made up of one or more cells. Laptop computers are actually small mobile computers that work just like desktop computers. Laptops can be carried anywhere, so they need to be wireless. Batteries help make this possible, so they are essential in a laptop.
One more factor that affects the performance of a battery is the temperature inside the laptop. A battery loses half of its power when working because of the temperature in the laptop that can reach the 45C mark. This happens because of the cell oxidation that takes place inside the battery. Cell oxidation is an irreversible process that is detrimental to the lifespan of a laptop battery.
There are many great features to the laptop computer. Most of them come with modular (or swappable) drive bays which allow you to remove the floppy drive, the DVD drive and the hard drive. If you want to use different media for storing and saving your data, it is easier than ever to do this while you continue working. You don't even have to shut your computer down.
The most recent laptops use lithium ion batteries. Generally the life of a laptop battery is two to five hours, but if the laptop is being used very extensively, the life may get reduced to as little as one hour. The chemicals that are used inside the battery are usually degenerated when the life of the battery drops. It then needs to be replaced. Lithium ion laptop batteries can live long for one to five years. It depends greatly on the extent to which it is used.
Ultimately, the most important aspect of the laptop is it's ability to be mobile. This is why the batteries are so important. Most laptops come with one or two batteries or you can purchase an extra battery later. Most laptops batteries last from 2-4 hours when fully charged. Depending on the type of laptop and battery you have, it may be more or less.
