GPS Watches A Boon For Child Safety
Global Positioning System satellites do more than help with navigation and help people on the planet determine their position. Part of the system is dedicated to accurate time keeping, which is an essential part of its operation. By sending out a signal and measuring the time it takes to return, satellites can help determine location but it is these timed signals that help GPS watches stay on the right time as well as provide accurate locations.

p>Many parents are using GPS watches to help find lost children and several services are available to locate missing kids in minutes, without waiting hours for them to return on their own. The GPS watches for children have many of the same functions as a regular watch, but if the child does not return on time, logging onto the internet, or placing a call to a service center, can provide a map of the child s location, including a street address, within a few feet of the location.
<
p>Some of the GPS watches also include the capability of notifying the nearest 911 emergency call center when a child is in distress. Pressing two buttons automatically sends a call to 911, and having to press them both help prevent accidental notifications if only one button is bumped.

p>Automatically Adjusts Time To Current Zone
<
p>Another great feature of GPS watches is their ability to stay set at the right time, regardless of which time zone you may be traveling through. Updates from the satellite signals, each containing a stream to verify time, can adjust the watch s time on the run. This ability to keep track of time can also make GPS watches an idea silent partner in training workouts.

p>Watches, specifically designed to monitor time, speed and distance with features built into GPS watches lets the wearer download all the data into their computer to help track their fitness plan. You can set certain times and distances into GPS watches and when you reach those benchmarks an alarm will sound, letting you know you have reached one of the goals in your plan.
<
p>Some of the more advanced GPS watches can offer more information than most people will ever use and with up to 12 channels many include an altimeter, barometer and compass as well as a clock. You can store individual routes for a run or even a drive, along with various stopping points along the way. Using it for exercising or travel lets you know where you are at all times, as well as how it took to arrive.
