How to Get IE 7 to Save the Window Positions and Sizes

by ToolsReview on Sunday, March 16, 2008

Sometimes, Internet Explorer 7 seems to have a mind of its own. The windows won’t save their positions – everytime you open the program, the window must be manually resized

There is an easy way to get IE7 to save its window positions:

  • Open a web page.
  • Stretch it and move it to the size you want (full size if that is what you prefer). Don’t use the maximize button or function.
  • Choose any link on the page and right click on it  and pick "open a new window".
  • Move the second window to the size you want manually (stretch it with the bottom right hand corner). Again, don’t use the maximize button.
  • Close the first window.
  • Close the second window.

Now when you reopen IE 7, the window should open to your new "stretched" size.

That’s it!

It didn’t take long, however, for FrontPage to show its weaknesses. Creating new pages, dealing with navigation structure, adding [...]
